How do I connect the AS/400 to a NT mail server, enabling sending of e-mails from InterForm400.

Answer:
For OS/400 V3R7 and newer.

1)
CFGTCP - Option 10. Work with TCP/IP host table entries
- Insert IP-address and Hostname of NT mail server

2)
CHGTCPDMN
- Insert the DNS-adresses at INTNETADR

or on V3R7

CHGTCP - option 13. Change remote name server.
- Insert the DNS-adresses at INTNETADR

3)
Add possible unknown routes to the NT mail server
CFGTCP - Option 2. Work with TCP/IP routes

4)
CHGSMTPA, press F4 to prompt
- Insert *YES to AUTOSTART SMTP server after IPL.
- Insert "HOSTNAME" of NT mail server at "MAILROUTER"
- Insert *YES at "FIREWALL"

5)
CHGPOPA
*NO at AUTOSTART, MSGSPLIT = *NOMAX or limit of NT mail server.

6)
STRTCPSVR *SMTP
- Starts the SMTP server on the AS/400

7)
STRMSF
- Starts the Mail Server Framework.
